F1Tourist signing guidelines#

The Tourist and Service Signs guideline provides further requirements for the design and eligibility of these sign types: (i) tourist signs for commercial tourist attractions on state-controlled roads (white lettering on brown background) (ii) service signs on state-controlled roads (white lettering on blue background) (iii) Driving Experiences (State Strategic Touring Routes and Tourist Drives) (iv) Welcome signs.

F2.1Signs#

F2.1.1Electric vehicle charging service sign symbols#

This symbol (SQ07) may be used on direction and service signs as required to direct motorists to the charging facility. If required, direction signs to the charging facility should commence from the closest state-controlled road to avoid excessive sign proliferation.

Signing to electric vehicle charging station facilities is to be in accordance with Section 5 of this Manual. Figure F2.1.1(b) provides examples of service signs using the electric vehicle charging service sign symbol (SQ07).

F2.1.2Parking restriction signs at electric vehicle charging facility#

NO PARKING, ELECTRIC VEHICLES EXCEPTED WHILE CHARGING sign (R5-40-Q01) shall be installed to ensure only electric vehicles while charging occupy parking spaces at the charging facility.

F2.2Pavement marking#

Electric vehicle charging bays shall have pavement marking (R5-Q07) in accordance with Figure F2.2 installed to inform motorists of the recharging capability of the bay.
