1Introduction#

Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads is responsible for the provision, maintenance and management of the major arterial and linking roads and road transport infrastructure throughout Queensland. As part of this network, Transport and Main Roads owns and maintains Rate 3 road lighting installations incorporating more than 40,000 lights. Road lighting is an essential component of road safety infrastructure. Transport and Main Roads is committed to maintaining its road lighting to the stringent safety standards.
