2Scope#

This document contains maintenance practices applicable to Rate 3 road lighting that will allow these installations to continue operating safely, reliably, efficiently and effectively for the duration of their operational service life. This document also applies to other Transport and Main Roads-owned lighting installations, including pedestrian crossing and underpass lighting. The road lighting maintenance regime includes electrical, illumination, structural and environmental aspects – both scheduled and unscheduled. The scope of this document does not incorporate complete technical guidelines relating to steel pole maintenance. (Note that a separate ITS and Lighting Structures Inspection Manual is under development)
