2.3Process#

While every event will differ in scale, complexity and characteristics, the application of a consistent planning process will assist designers in the development of appropriate solutions. A suggested process for ETMP development is outlined in Figure 2.3.

Inputs from event organiser · Determine event traffic scope · Obtain additional inputs from stakeholders if required · Review constraints · Undertake risk assessment · Evaluate traffic management options · Consult with relevant stakeholders e.g., event organiser, QPS, road authorities · Prepare staging plans · Reconcile traffic management resources with event organiser · Prepare TGS · Identify contingencies, develop communications and incident management strategies (with event organiser input) and prepare ETMP · Modify TGS during event (if required) · Conduct post-event evaluation
